International Conference on Islamic and Muhammadiyah Studies (ICIMS) 2025. This conference is part of the conference program entitled International Summit on Science Technology and Humanity (ISETH) 2024 which is organized by the Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. This conference will be held offline and online from Surakarta, Indonesia on February 4-5, 2025.

Theme of this International Conference is “Empowering Muslims: The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Advancing Progressive Islamic Studies and the Halal Industry in the Digital Era“. This theme emphasizes the potential and contribution of artificial intelligence (AI) in improving the understanding and implementation of Islamic teachings in the contemporary era. With this main theme, it is hoped that the speakers at the International Conference on Islamic and Muhammadiyah Studies (ICIMS) 2025 will focus on discussions on.

Focus and Scope

  1. The use of AI to discover new topics that arise in Islamic studies and help understand the various perspectives of Muslim scholars’ studies.
  2. The potential of AI and its contribution to Islamic studies, including in the development of research methods, the analysis of religious texts, and the dissemination of Islamic knowledge.
  3. The role of AI in empowering the Muslim community through increased access to Islamic knowledge and resources.
  4. AI-based innovations in various fields of contemporary Islamic studies, such as the study of the Qur’an, Hadith, social sciences, Islamic finance, Islamic law, and Islamic education.
  5. The use of AI technology to advance the halal industry and improve the experience of Muslim tourists.
  6. Ethical challenges and innovative solutions in the application of AI to Islamic studies and the lives of Muslims.

Through the exploration of these themes, the conference aims to formulate a contemporary approach to Islamic studies that harnesses the potential of AI but is still grounded in Islamic values. Thus, it is hoped that Islam can be present as a relevant solution to solve the problems of the ummah in the digital era, realize a progressive vision of Islam (al-Islam al-Taqaddumi), and be a blessing for all nature.

Based on the new conference theme and paying attention to the type of sub-tracks, here are the revisions for five tracks with more relevant titles:
